UPC Ireland now on Media Boy Blog.

We are happy to confirmed that news from UPC Ireland will now appear on Media Boy HQ.

Local TV on MB Blog: Kaleidoscope TV to launch in Birmingham.

Ofcom has given has agree to a transfer of the local TV licence from BLTV to Kaleidoscope TV Limited. Kaleidoscope TV need to launch by 28th February 2015.

ITVBe HD and ITVBe +1 launches only on Virgin Media.

ITV has launches both ITVBe HD and ITVBe +1 only on Virgin Media.

  • ITVBe +1 has launch on Virgin Channel 120.
  • ITVBe HD has launch on Virgin Channel 179.

Sky Sports: Sky Sports 3 HD to become Sky Sports Darts HD from December 18th.

Sky Sports has confirmed that Sky Sports Darts will launch on December 18 until Sky Sports 3 Channels numbers until January 5th 2015.

  • Sky Sports 3 can be found on Virgin Channel 504 (Also in HD on Virgin Channel 514).

More ITVBe Channels set to launch on Wednesday.

Cable Forum poster "Superblade7" has found that both ITV Be +1 and ITV Be HD is set to launch on November 19th.

  • ITVBe HD will launch at 6am on Virgin Channel 179.
  • ITVBe +1 will launch at 7am on Virgin Channel 120.

Three new channels appear on Virgin Media.

ITV Be +1 (Channel 120) and ITV Be HD (Channel 179 has appeared on Virgin Media today.

Local broadcaster "Made in Tyne and Wear" will launch on Virgin Channel 159 tonight at 8pm in some Tyne and Wear areas.

MB Views: Virgin Media can save money and add upto 29 new channels.

On July 31st 2014 Virgin did say the Radio listing being remove on non TiVo was due to "additional channel releases planned".

Local TV on MB Blog: Local TV comes to Leeds.

Virgin and Freeview Viewers in the Leeds area can now view Made in Leeds on Virgin Channel 159 and Freeview Channel 8.

Sky Movies put Christmas lights on early.

Sky Movies has axe Sky Movies Drama and Romance as Sky Movies Christmas on Virgin Channel 410 - Also in HD on Channel 440.

Local TV on MB Blog: Bay TV Liverpool reveal December launch.

Local TV Broadcaster Bay TV has confirmed that Bay TV Liverpool will launch on December 4th on Freeview Channel 8 and Virgin Channel 159 in the Liverpool area.

This week Channels rebrand on Virgin Media.

Virgin Media has rebrand the following channels this week:

  • NBCUniversal has rebrand Movies 24 as Christmas 24 on Virgin Channel 419.
  • NBCUniversal has rebrand Movies 24+ as Christmas 24+ on Virgin Channel 420.
  • Sky Movies has rebrand Sky Movies Superheroes as Sky Movies Greats on Virgin Channel 404.
  • Sky Movies has rebrand Sky Movies Superheroes HD as Sky Movies Greats HD on Virgin Channel 434.
  • Viacom has rebrand Nick Jr. 2 as Nick Jr. Too on Virgin Channel 716.

-Also no confirmed channel launches set to happen on Virgin Media.

Rumours: Sky Movies to go Christmas early this year?

Rumours on Digital Spy Forum say that Sky Movies Drama/Romance will become Sky Christmas from Friday 7 November.

UPDATED: Liverpool FC axe LFC TV on Virgin Media and sold out to Sky.

Here is the latest Media Boy HQ has on LFC TV (As of October 28th).

We have been informed that the sports channel Liverpool FC TV (544) will no longer be a free channel, nor will it be included in our packages.
The decision to remove the channel from our free listings today has been made by the channel provider.
From Tuesday 4th November, it will become a subscription-based channel, and will not be available on our TV services.
However, you will be able to use your superfast Virgin Media broadband to access the LFC TV GO service (although please note, a subscription is required through the football club website to access it).
Sorry about this sudden change, and I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the wide range of football coverage that is available through Virgin Media.
